Ⅰ.cause表示“原因、緣故、理由”等意思時，著重指產生某種結果的原因。如：

　　① The cause of the fire was carelessness. 起火的原因是不小心。

　　② What was the cause of it? 發生這事是原因何在?

　　③ There’s no cause for anxiety. 沒有理由要焦慮(不必焦慮)。

　　Ⅱ.reason的意思是“理由、原因、緣故”，著重指產生某種行為或想法的理由。如：

　　① I have no reason for it. 我沒有理由這樣做。

　　② Give your reason for changing the plan. 把你改變計劃的理由講一下。
